About Mike Saif

Mike Saif is the owner and President of WORLD CLASS COACHING and the editor of the WORLD CLASS COACHING magazine.

Born and raised in Sheffield, England, Mike played competitive soccer (not professional) in his native country from a young age until the age of 29. He comes from a strong soccer family; his three brothers all played competitive soccer. Like Mike, one brother graduated into the coaching ranks and coaches at the youth academy of a professional club in England. Mike says the bulk of his knowledge comes from his father who has played and coached professionally for over 30 years. Eight of those years were spent as the First Team Coach at Leeds United including the year they won the English Premier League Championship in 1992. Mike says “the many and sometimes heated debates/discussions our family had while watching soccer games over the years were as valuable to me as any coaching or licensing course I have ever attended.”

Mike came to Kansas City in 1991 to coach and direct soccer camps for Challenger Sports’ British Soccer Camps.  At that time Mike started coaching youth teams and a few years later he formed the KC Dynamos Soccer Club.  In 2001, Mike coached the 87G Dynamos to the U14 USYSA National Championship becoming the first and only coach to guide a team from Kansas to a National Championship.  Over the years Dynamos teams have won numerous state championships and many of their players went on to play soccer at D1 college programs like Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Creighton, Marquette, Notre Dame, etc.  Over the years, as WORLD CLASS COACHING demanded more time, Mike scaled down his coaching commitments to just one team.

Mike attended his first coaching school in England in 1981. In 1994 he attained the USSF “B” License and in 1995 attained the USSF “A” License.

Seeing a need for quality coaching information, WORLD CLASS COACHING magazine was first published in February 1998 as 12-page newsletter. Today, WORLD CLASS COACHING conducts International Coaching Seminars and produces videos, DVD’s and books and digital content that are a valuable resource of quality educational coaching materials to over 40,000 coaches from 71 different countries.
