WORLD CLASS COACHING International Coaching Seminar Featuring Howard Wilkinson and Les Reed

February 9, 10 & 11, 2001 -  Doubletree Hotel, Overland Park, Kansas City. WORLD CLASS COACHING once again assembled some of the top coaches in the world as clinicians for its International Coaching Seminar.

Howard Wilkinson – English F.A. Technical Director and England U21 National Team Coach. Wilkinson is the architect behind the current revolution in English soccer, which has seen a priority placed on the development of youth players and the formation of Youth Academies at professional clubs. Wilkinson also had a successful career coaching professional teams in England most notably winning the English Premier League in 1992 with Leeds United when they beat Manchester United for the Championship.

Les Reed – English F.A. Director of Technical Development and England U16 National Team Coach. Reed has experience coaching youth and professional players at all levels. Formerly the Head Coach of English Premier League club, Charlton Athletic.

Other clinicians included, John Walker, University of Nebraska Women's Coach; Ron Newman, the winningest coach in American soccer history with successful stints at the San Diego Sockers and Kansas City Wizards; Bob Warming, Creighton University Men's Head Coach and Scoop Stanasic former professional goalkeeper.

 

ATTENDEES FROM 36 STATES AND SEVEN COUNTRIES

Over 300 coaches attended from36 states and seven countries.  The furthest attendee traveled all the way from Korea.  The clinicians put on a show and treated the attending coaches to some great sessions.

The clinicians conducted 14 sessions over the weekend featuring practices they do regularly with their teams.  Many of the sessions from this seminar have been featured in issues of the WORLD CLASS COACHING magazine.
