LEVEL 3: Phases of Play - When and How to Switch in Attack

This topic can be discussed on the WORLD CLASS COACHING Discussion Forum - click here to go directly to the topic.

The attacking team look to the switch play if the defenders are dragged across the field leaving space on the opposite flank. Two cones mark the line of offside just outside of the penalty area.

The defending team scores by passing the ball through one of the sets of cones located just beyond the halfway line

Key Factors
1. Create Space - Individual/Team
2. Movement of players/support - Midfield runs
3. Identify Opportunities - Pass, Shoot, Dribble, Turn
4. Decision - Late/Early Runs from midfield
5. End Product - Finishing Skills
6. Alternative Arrangements
