Boy is he going from a real high point to a low point in one year. I think the new BV school will only be getting a total of 1 returning varsity player from BV & BV West.

What league will BVSW play in? EKL? Sunflower? Are they starting with a full Fr-Sr class group or building up to it?

I undersand that Free State boys and girls are pretty happy with their new coach. A lot of talented players that had been 'burned out' are returning. Their new coach is supposed to be good AND likeable.

I heard that BVSW will be EKL.

EKL expands to 8 teams:

Aquinas, Miege, BV North, BV Northwest, BV West, Blue Valley, BV Southwest and Gardner-Edgerton.

BVSW will have Freshman-Seniors, but I assume a small senior class at first.

Tough league to start out in for BVSW. I don't know anything about GE's soccer program.

Does St. James then play in the Sunflower league?

Also, isn't there another Olathe HS about to go on-line? At what point does the EKL or Sunflower leage need to split into three?

St. James does not play in Sunflower. Maybe when they grow enough to play in 5A.

Gardner Edgerton is more of a football school, at least while Starling is still there. Their soccer team was competitive last year and pulled some upsets but will probably be in the bottom 3 of EKL this season.

A few of the top teams from the South Central or West as some put it, in 6A will be Dodge City, Wichita Northwest, Wichita East and Maize. Not necessarily in that order, but those are the ones I think will be fighting for spots to the quarter-finals. All of these teams have a pretty good group of core players returning.
Hard telling this year overall. There will more than likely be a lot more parity between teams and even when comparing teams from the East and the West.
