What happened to quick ball movement in the attacking third? Almost every time a Dutch attacker got the ball, he hesitated and charted his eventual dribbling penetration. Just absolutely uncreative rubbish.
They were okay at creating opportunities from the defensive and working thirds. Clearly outmatched player by player, but through workrate and passion, they got the ball to teammates in the attacking third actually quite a bit. And the few times they moved the ball around there, they often got a pretty good look at goal.
Robben is just over-rated. Sorry, but a premier striker like he's supposed to be needs to be able to strike the ball with both feet. And he was the hesitater-in-chief today. Even my kid was screaming at him on the TV screen to get the ball off his foot.
