Ok...I know we are just getting started with Regional play for the Boy's High School season and it's not even over yet, but lets for a moment switch gears, or should I say genders, and talk about the upcoming Girls High School season.
What teams do you think will do well this season? Who are some of the top player's on what teams around the State?
Don't ask Ofd...he'll just say Lawrence.

Actually JJflash Lawrence will not be good this year. Third coach in 3 years, most of the top players in town go to Free State. Last year I thought Free State would be very good, but then realized they were about a year away. If the coach plays the best players they will be very tough. They have two players off the KCFC U16 Ecnl team. They have one other player who I think was on the Region 2 ODP team, and a bunch of other solid players. They will be interesting to watch.

Love this topic but I want to wait to see tryouts first.

Ok skiddie...I know the tryout thing hasn't happened yet, but the Boy's season is officially over. Now it's time to talk about the High School Girl's upcoming season.
Only 131 days away...at least for Maize and their first game!
We don't have to wait for tryouts! Heck...at Maize, we're lucky to have enough girls go out to makeup a Varsity/JV squad. Maize is gonna be good though Let's talk!

Who's the top women's teams this year in the Northeast? Will it be Blue Valley Northwest again, along with Shawnee Mission West and Blue Valley West?

Ok JJ I'll join in but I have to admit to feeling less than informed before I see some area tryouts.
I have heard a few people in club ball talk about how good Olathe East Girls Varsity and JV is going to be.

Just some of my thoughts:

I know that BV West lost a lot of great seniors. My prediction is that it will take them a bit of time to regroup.

BVNW also lost some fabulous seniors (including their amazing starting goal keeper), but their current senior class is very strong. They will do well.

Aquinas lost their starting goal keeper, 3 starting defenders and 2 starting mids. However, Aquinas has talent that runs deep year after year, so my guess is that they will work it out.

If I am not mistaken, OE has lost a main offensive threat due to graduation. It will be interesting to see who steps up and scores some goals. They have a lot of talent on this team. They will do well.
