Does anyone know whats going on with the Comets. Ownership change or something ?

They did a marketing deal with KC Command so they sell the tickets.

Not sure! It would be nice if they could find a place to play on the Kansas side, maybe at the Legends area by LSSP!

Why is that? So it would be closer to you. Here's another option for you. Move to east Jackson County, you know, the county where every major venue for sports and the arts is except the NASCAR track for which Missourians expressed little interest, and LSSP that would have been in Missouri if not for the economy faltering, and some questionable use of government bonds.
Jo.Co. could have had the stadium right across from BVW built to the original concept including something equivalent to OPSC, but the voters turned it down. That's what's a shame. That land still sits vacant.
Independence Event Center is a nice, new facility, about the right size for current patronage, and very accessible. It's about 10 minutes from Truman Sports Complex, and about 20 minutes from Downtown. Having both the hockey Mavericks, and the Comets call this home helps the facility maintain financial viability.

I think they did have some ownership change. Have not seen anything official on it yet.

Moved offices to 95th and Nall (or somewhere thereabouts) to share space with KC Command. Needed more floor space and better technology than the old office in Independence offered. Comets and Command have some agreement to share ticket sale responsibilities. Comets aren't leaving the IEC anytime soon. I seem to remember that they another 4 years left on their contract. Besides, where are they going to play at the Legends... Community America Ballpark under a tent???

Nice win over Baltimore last night. Comets are ready for Milwaukee.

The city of Independence is giving the Comets a great rent deal. They can call them the Independence Musketeers for all I care. At least we have a stable indoor team.

What a trivial complaint this is. Do you get all bent out of shape that it is Sporting KC and not Sporting Wyandotte County? Find something meaningful to bitch about already.

The Comets didn't come back to town and call themselves the Kansas City Comets out of respect for Independence - where the IEC is located. Who cares where their sales office is located? Do you care that Sporting KC plays in WYCO and their office is in downtown Kansas City?

Gimme a break. They PRACTICE in MO (Soccer Dome) and PLAY in MO (IEC). Very doubtful anyone goes to game hoping to catch a glimpse of KS based front office staff doing their thing(not a knock against the front office, they do a great job). Friday nite @ IEC was a great time. 3-4 mins in 2nd qtr seemed like they scored every time they got the ball. Add to that a win in Milwaukee and this team is on a roll right now.
