Andy, Mr. Dimnet got it right.

“The happiness of most people is not ruined by great catastrophes or fatal errors, but by the repetition of slowly destructive little things.”
Ernest Dimnet

You have ruined the happiness of most people on this message board by the repetition of slowly destructive little postings.

Fred

Can you back that up with an example of a "slowly destructive little posting"?

I doubt it!

AB: check out this article found in the Wall Street Journal from Saturday 1/8/2011. Tell us if this Chinese mother is teaching her kids to be brave and creative or if she is just downright abusive. What if instead of pushing music practice she was drilling them on deceptive dribbling and finishing moves?

"Can a regimen of no playdates, no TV, no computer games and hours of music practice create happy kids? And what happens when they fight back?"

Thankfully my children learn their life lessons from many other people. not a former PE teacher.

I have to give you credit Andy. You added the little backstories about your childhood influences and role models. Why don't you go to a Comets game so we can talk about something current? You like indoor right? Get out of the house and socialize with the masses.

You know Andy, I am long over my anger stage with you. But I would add my plea to the others on the board. Please talk about something we are interested in. We know how you feel about childhood soccer education. How about you limit the marketing to specific times of the year?

If I was your rehab coach, and you know I have always tried to help you over the years, I would suggest you go watch any non-Legends game you can. And find something nice to say. That would be a good start. You only pay lip service to that balance between Legends and all things non-Legends.

I don't think you can make as strong a distinction between right and wrong ways to teach life lessons in the soccer vehicle.

You kind of remind me of Paula Abdul sometimes. And we all know what happened to her. I don't want to see you have to rebrand over to Happy Feet Dance clinics because you ticked off all the soccer parents.

Interesting article!

However, I'm not seeing how this relates to the Legends philosophy which is a very positive and fair way of getting kids to try their hardest.
